The men's 1500m always guarantees a spectacle on KBC Nacht. This year will be no different as the strongest Belgians have signed up to compete alongside some serious international athletes.

If all goes well, three big Belgian names will appear at the start of the KBC Nacht. Currently, Isaac Kimeli is the fastest Belgian with 3'37"72, but it is extremely likely that this pace will be beaten on 20th July. The entry standard released for the Doha World Championships is 3'36"00. Kimeli's place has already been confirmed, however only for the 5000m. Ismael Debjani and Pieter-Jan Hannes, the Belgian record holder and third fastest Belgian of all time in the 1500m event respectively, are still aiming for their World Championship objective and Heusden will offer them an excellent opportunity.

The Belgian duo have not been completely convincing us in 2019 due to minor injuries, but they hope to be fit for the "Nacht". Furthermore, they can count on some stiff international competition, with the absolute star from Uganda, Ronald Musagala, who set a new Ugandan record of 3'31"33 at Lausanne's Diamond League. When it comes to European competitors, we will have to wait and see what Jakob Holusa and Adel Mechaal can do. In the past, the Czech and Spaniard have been good for 3'32"49 and 3'33"91 respectively.
