Borlée aiming for national record - Van Branteghem out
Cédric Van Branteghem cancels his KBC Nacht as his tendons have not recovered fully yet from his previous races. Kevin Borlée on the other hand is aiming for a national record at the 400 meter.
Cédric Van Branteghem decided not to participate in the KBC Nacht. "My tendons have not yet recovered from my previous races", according to Van Branteghem.

Van Branteghem already once ran the minimum requirement for the Olympics, 45.20 and in theory he should put in the same performance again in order to be making it to the 400m at the Olympics. He already is on for the 4x400m.

Even without Cédric Van Branteghem the 400m remains a highly attractive race at the KBC Nacht. The twin brothers Borlée, Kevin mainly, are aiming at the national 400m record, 45.02 by Cédric Van Branteghem in 2003.

Last Sunday Kevin Borlée missed out on his Olympic ticket with one hundredth of a second (45.21). However, weather conditions during this race were far from ideal. It is going to be a promising Sunday!
