World record attempt 3000m steeplechase at KBC Nacht
In the past, several world records have been established at the KBC Nacht. Will the spectators be treated to another world's best performance again on 20 July?
It may very well happen, as Kenyan Paul Kipsiele Koech will attempt to break the 3000m Steeplechase world record, which is currently held by Saif Saeed Shaheen of Qatar (7.53.63). Koech took the bronze medal at '04 Athens Olympic Games steeplechase and is the 5th fastest steeplechase performer in history with his 7.56.37 from '05.

Koech only just missed out on his Beijing ticket at the Kenyan trials, but as he has run the world year best, he is ready for sportive revenge and in for a tough race.

Saif Saeed Shaheen himself is present as well and he will certainly not be handing out presents. "If the circumstances are right, it is very well possible," according to Marc Corstjens.
