Lopez: 'Thanks team for confidence'
Belga
David Garcia Lopez managed to stay ahead of his pursuers. "The team trusted me, and I thank them zith a victory," the Spaniard said later.
"I was looking forward to this stage, because I only have a shot at victory on a hilly ride. Today, that worked out, but now I'm absolutely exhausted," David Garcia Lopez laughed.

"I still can't believe that I won. During the first part of the ride, I didn't feel too great, but it improved later on. Our group had a head start early on. That's when I thought we might be able to keep it up till the end."

Yet, the rider for Sky feared that Dumoulin and company would return. "At the end it was close. The stage may only be 150 kilometers, but it was heavy because it was all hills."
