UWCT Final - Trento/Monte Bondone
Date 19 - 22 September 2013
Course UWCT final
Distances Time Trial : 24.6km - Road race : 112/60 km
Time Trial
The start and finish of the 24.6km time trial is located in Cavedine in the Lake Valley (Valli dei Laghi). The course starts with a rolling descent between kilometers 3 and 7. Next the riders pedal alongside the magnificent Lake Cavedine before their 2km ascent between kilometers 16 and 18. The rest of the time trial is relatively flat on wide open roads. This course certainly suits time trial specialists. Take note that only the right side of the road will be open for cyclists from the start through to kilometer 7 and from kilometer 19 through to the finish. In those zones, the left side of the road will remain open for traffic.

Road Race Courses
Granfondo (Men 16-64 and women 16-44)

The long distance course of the UWCT final is a 112km course starting from Piazza Duomo downtown Trento. After a 7km neutralized start behind cars, riders head up the first mountain towards Palu di Giovo, hometown of Francesco Moser and Gilberto Simoni. This 7km climb starts a few kilometers after the neutralization at an elevation level of 250 meters and leads up to almost 600m. After the downhill, riders come back to the main road towards Trento where they cross the river Adige and keep on following the riverside. After this totally flat part of 40km, the second climb of the day brings us towards an elevation of 900 meters after 10km of climbing. This picturesque climb arrives on top at the Lago di Cei. A 10km downhill brings us back to the boards of the Adige in opposite direction for another 10km flat part. The final climb on Monte Bondone towards the finish is the legendary climb where Charly Gaul wrote history during the Giro d'Italia of 1956. During this 20km climb, riders go from one turn to the next one and get spectacular views to the city of Trento. The finish on top of Monte Bondone is at an elevation of 1654 meters. Total elevation of the race is 2974 meters.
