The third edition of the Mexican qualifier event in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series is taking place for the second consecutive year in the northern city of San Luis Potosi, based on 1820m altitude with a metropolitan region of more than 1 million inhabitants.
Riders can expect an early morning time trial on Saturday with 200 pre-registered riders who have to ride 2 laps of 11km in the Tangamange park in the city center for a total of 22.6km.
The Granfondo on Sunday has its start and finish in front of the city hall. The 121km race hides some real classical European style components with a 2km cobblestone section, followed by the main difficulty of the day, an 11km climb with an average gradient of 4% but parts up to 15%. The total race has an elevation of 1243m.
450 riders have pre-registered for the Granfondo.
