The first American qualifier event of the season will take place this weekend in Jacksonville, Alabama and aims to go over 1000 participants with the day-registrations still open today.
962 riders have preregistered which is a growth of 10% compared to last year. The time trial on Saturday attracts 85 riders who will challenge each other on a 12 miles straight shot course with start in Piedmont and finish in Jacksonville at the University Campus.
That's also the location of the start and finish of the century ride the next day. The 100 miles course is the qualifier distance for the Granfondo World Championships with a hard and challenging course up to Mount Cheaha, the highest point of Alabama State. Riders head back over the same road towards the finish afterwards.
