With a time-trial on Saturday and a road race on Sunday, the qualifying season for the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Albi, France start this weekend in Poland.
The Skoda Poznan bike challenge is new in the series since last year. The 16km time trial will be held on the car race track in the city. All riders have to do four laps of 4km before finishing. It's a completely flat and technical course with a lot of long corners.
The road race on Sunday is completely flat and one of the fastest events in the series. The 120km start through the city center and will finish near Lake Malta on a very beautiful location. Large group sprints are part of the event.
6500 riders have registered so far, coming from 15 different countries. Another considerable growth compared to last year.
