This Individual Accident insurance is provided by the organiser's insurer to make sure that you are properly covered whilst taking part in the Paris Roubaix Challenge 2015. The insurance is optional but highly recommended.
As you may know, the vast majority of your usual insurance policies (particularly your car insurance, insurance provided automatically through your bank cards, household insurance, bank loan insurance, etc.) totally exclude any participation in sports events either on an amateur or professional basis, and therefore exclude the risks involved in your taking part in the Paris Roubaix Challenge.
It is therefore important that you check the extent of the cover provided by your normal insurance policies (and the exclusions) and, if you are not sufficiently covered or not covered at all, you should consider taking out the proposed insurance policies by clicking on the link below.
This insurance will cover you if you have an accident whilst taking part in the event, whether or not you were responsible and whether or not there is an identified responsible third party. You are only covered during the event from the time you enter in the starting area until the time you cross the finishing line or you abandon the event.
The insurance will pay you a benefit if you die or you become permanently disabled as a result of the accident. It will also secure you the payment of medical fees (up to the limits chosen by you).
This cover Individual Accident is optional but highly recommended. It can be taken out in addition to any existing insurance you may already have or if you are not already covered. You may purchase the cover from the insurer of your choice, from your federation or from Aon, organizer’s broker, whose proposal (detailed notice and application form) can be consulted and downloaded by clicking on the link below. You can choose the offer providing a minimum cover while registering for the event.

Roubaix is where the Queen of the Classics finishes, and for many people Roubaix is THE cycling capital of France. The town has been the finishing point for the Paris-Roubaix race since 1896, and its emotion-filled velodrome is a Mecca for all cycling fans. What's more, they say that the Hell of the North leads to Heaven…
Paris-Roubaix can be experienced throughout the year in Roubaix: there are other versions of the race (Mountain Bike Cyclo-Cross, Challenge, Junior…) and visits of the velodromes, led by an enthusiast, are organised every month by the Tourist Office.
The town is becoming increasingly important as a track cycling centre. This reputation started to grow when the "Le Stab" indoor velodrome opened. This facility is named after the famous cyclist Jean Stablinski.
Thanks to a BMX track that puts the final touch on this road and track cycling offering, Roubaix can now stage international competitions (Cyclo-Cross World Cup, track cycling international open…) all year long
Today, thanks to its high-quality facilities and prestigious events, Roubaix is a town where cycling fans can enjoy this great sport throughout the year both as spectators and participants.
There is a long love story between Roubaix and cycling and it's destined to last and last…
If the Paris-Roubaix is a truly unique race in the world, Roubaix also has a museum thoroughly deserving of being described in the same way. It is installed in the former Art Deco municipal swimming pool: The Art and Industry Museum displays its collections around the pool in the former shower cubicles and swimming baths in this 1930s swimming pool. At the time it was considered the finest pool in France.
Following the lead given by the former swimming pool, Roubaix is now being redeveloped and taking on a new modern identity: Yesterday's cotton mills are now enjoying a new lease of life providing a home for artists' workshops, lofts, universities, dance studios, boutiques…
The Tour of Flanders cyclo, Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge and the Paris-Roubaix Challenge form the holy triangle of the Classics sportives.
SKODA has an extra treat in store for everyone who rides these 3 races. After the final race they will receive a hand-painted miniature rider as a unique memento of this heroic Classic event!
You can collect your gift next to the deposit reclaim stand in Liège on 25 April!

The ultimate challenge is to ride the 170k from Busigny to Roubaix, on the same course as the pros will do the day after. However, the routes of 141k and 70k will also leave you plenty of opportunity to get to know the tough cobblestone sections of the mythical Paris-Roubaix race.
The numbering of the varying cobble stone sections is identical to the numbering in the elite race. Some consecutive sections have the same number.
You will soon find here more details about the tracks.

Anyone retroceding his bib to a third party will be held responsible in case the latter is involved in an accident. The organization renounces all liability in case such an accident occurs and reserves itself the right to permanently exclude the participant from the Paris-Roubaix Challenge.
For participants enrolled in the 163 km a shuttle service (with one single departure at the Velodrome Jean Stablinski on the 11th April 2015) has been introduced to take them from Roubaix to the start in Busigny at 5:30 a.m sharp. The shuttles are equipped with bike trailers. This service is complementary and must be signed up for at the time of registration, for the cost of € 30. It will not be possible to subscribe to the shuttle in the 'Host Village' the day of the course.
Upon registration participants can opt for additional services and merchandising goods. The acquisition of those goods and services is firm, as they are not eligible for refund regardless of the reason given.
The bibs must be collected at the 'Host Village' set up near the Velodrome in Roubaix. Opening hours of the 'Host Village':
For participants enrolled in the 163 km ride, a bib collection booth will be set up in the town of Busigny (59) on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.
The bibs will be given to participants upon presentation of the confirmation e-mail and ID. No bibs will be send by mail to home addresses. Each participant has to collect his bib in person. In case of a collective registration, only the group leader is entitled to collect the bibs. Individuals belonging to a group thus cannot collect their start package.
For safety reasons, each participant must present him- of herself at the start of the Paris-Roubaix Challenge with the required equipment detailed below:
* The zip of the helmet must be fastened at any time
A number of elements are also recommended:
For safety reasons, it is forbidden to participate in Paris-Roubaix Challenge with a bike equipped with extension elements (handlebar horns or "handlebar triathlete"). Likewise, lay-down bikes are not allowed in the Paris-Roubaix Challenge.

The organization will install drop-out zones at specific points on the course that will be communicated to all participants over our the website.
At these zones, shuttle buses will be available for participants that cannot or do not want to continue their route. However, in case of injury, a competitor must drop out at one of the food and drink points implemented by the organization.
The transport (to Roubaix) from these zones will be available in a limited period of time. A time schedule is based on the communicated starting hours. Participants that leave the drop-out zones at a time past the communicated time schedule will have to reach the finish by their own means. Riders who pass the time schedule are no longer considered as participating in the course.
In case of material or physical damage disabling the participant to continue his/her route, he/she can use the emergency number that will be given at the collection booth in the Host Village. On calling the number, he/she will be picked-up and transported to the finish in Roubaix.
The Paris-Roubaix Challenge will take place on roads open to traffic, participants must follow the rules set by the Highway Code and evolve under their proper responsibility.
In the case of accidents produced under violation of the Highway Code the only responsible is the participant, whether he is the actor of, or is - direct or indirect - subject to an accident. The participant acknowledges that cycling onto roads open to traffic bears great risks and that he/she should adapt his speed to traffic and road condition. He acknowledges his vulnerability and accepts the risks inherent to the competition.
The organization will establish a security service throughout the course consisting of signalers who help at crossings indentified as major and/or hazardous and motorcyclists covering for the logistics. Personal following cars are strictly prohibited .
The medical staff, acting under the supervision of an approved civil security association, is perfectly able to decide on the disqualification of a competitor for medical reasons. Their advice therefore is firm; neglect of and opposition to the latter by the rider is at his own risk.
Civil liability insurance: in accordance with the legislation in force, the organization has taken out insurance covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, those of its officials and all the participants of the Paris-Roubaix Challenge. With regard to participants' civil liability, the cover provided by this insurance to the latter is limited to accidents which they may cause to third parties in the course.

A copy of the insurance policy is available on request.

This will guarantee the settlement of a claim in the event of physical injury (death, permanent disability), due to an accident which has occurred on the race route, whether or not they are responsible, and whether or not a third party has been identified and/or is responsible .
Compensation, which is according to injuries, will take effect from the moment that the policyholder has suffered from an accident while participating in the sports event. This insurance is optional but is highly recommended. It can be taken out in addition to or in the absence of an insurance of the same kind provided in particular via a sports license.
The instruction and subscription form are available on the event's website (www.parisroubaixchallenge.com).
Material damage insurance: the organization declines any responsibility in the event of theft, damage to, or loss of the participants' personal belongings during the race. As a result, it is up to each participant individually - if he deems necessary - to take out an extra insurance.
