A well-deserved break
Kim has won her last match at the Masters in LA. She beat Elena Dementieva in two short sets. A suitable ending to a great season.
Kim Clijsters finished off both Masters and the 2005 season with a victory. In a match where honour and price money were the only motivating factors, Kim beat the Russian Elena Dementieva in two sets.

Kim started the match furiously and won the first set in no time (6-2). Set 2 was more in balance until Kim at a 3-2 lead already broke through Dementieva's service and went straight on to match point and victory.

Kim, who started as a favourite at the Masters in Los Angeles, played the last match of a very successful year where she won 9 tournaments, among which her first Grand Slam. She ends the year as the world's nummer two.

Now she will be on a holiday break for a couple of weeks. "2005 is over and it has a nice feeling", Kim said. "After 2004 every victory was a blessing but I still have difficulties in believing what I have achieved this year."
