Since 2005 Kim Clijsters has acted as the godmother of the Buba&Batma, a project by the Flemish Hetty Schiltmans which helps out street children and orphans in Southeast India.

Kim has contributed financially to the construction of a new orphanage, which is now fully functional and operating very efficiently. Buba&Batma also provides support for local education, medical help and local commerce.

"I immediately felt drawn to this. One can only admire the way Hetty offers very concrete and direct help. I supported this project right from the start and for a full 100% because children are involved as well as the unique way Hetty incorporates the entire local population into the project."
