Van Keirsbulck: 'Do well in autumn classics'

Guillaume Van Keirsbulck rounded off a solo effort with a well-deserved and impressive win in the concluding stage of the Eneco Tour. He hopes this will be the start of a fine autumn classics season.
The rider from team Omega Pharma-Quick.Step was one of the first to break away and in the final parts of today's stage proved the strongest of a leading group still. He broke away himself with 35km to go and in no time had put the others at a distance.

"It wasn't easy. There was a lot of wind and the group wasn't going very hard so I tried my luck", the stage winner said. "And it was the start of my time trial within the race."

"This is my finest victory so far", Van Keirsbulck sadi happily. "I did not expect this. After Paris-Roubaix I struggled to find my motivation again, but now I start feeling fine again. I hope to do well in the autumn classics."

Van Keirsulck won't take part in the Tour of Spain. "The team decided I'd better not ride a grand tour this year. I'll head for Hamburg first. I might do something similar there."
