BEKELE
Bekele said Brussels was very tuff. He is very happy he won the 6 races in the golden league.
RICHARDS (USA)
Sanya Richards won the golden league jackpot for the 3e time. She will spend the money for her mariage.
ISINBAYEVA (RUS)
Yelena is very happy she won the jackpot for the second time. It was a pleasure after Berlin. A part of the money goes to the orphins her country. It was cold outside, but inside I felt I was able to jump.
Gelete BURKA (ETH)
If you go for a world record, you can't be happy with this time. Of course the weather is not ideal and I'm still in very good shape. I look out for Thessaloniki next week: I still want to do something special.
Monika PYREK (POL)
It's always nice to be on the rostrum together with Yelena. But don't get a wrong impression: I'm very ambicious and one day I'll hope to beat her. Today I jumped as high as Yelena, and we all where happy with those heights in this cold. My legs feeled if I could have a cramp every minute. But we are in good shape, so next week in the warm weather of Thessaloniki we hope for better. But 4m70 is for sure a PB in these conditions !
BOLT (JAM)
Bolt told he is very tired. He didn't expecting going so fast. At 25 meters I backed off. I want to go home. The crowd was extremely wonderfull, they give me the energy. 2010 will not be so intense. I'm enjoy music, dancing. That's why I practice to be a deejay. My goal in my life: I want to be a legend.
Anna ALMINOVA (RUS)
I wanted to follow Burka as long as possible. But I hadn't a really good day. I expected more but the weather was very cold. This is my PB. It's also my first time that I run a 2K outdoor. Before I only did it indoor.
Vivian CHERUIYOT (KEN)
It was a hard race and Burka was much to strong for me. We are not used to run this distance and this weather does not help much... So my time is OK. I'll run in Thessaloniki and then I'll go back training on altitude in Eldoret.
Mercy CHERONO (KEN)
For me it was a first experience on that distance but it was great. Being third is quiete positive because the atmosphere was great, the weather conditions were difficult and i suffer a throat ache before the race. I'll come back, for sure.
Ali ABDOSH (ETH)
I'm happy because I broke my PB. As an Ethiopian it's a bit rto cold but I had a real good feeling in the race. Nevertheless I prefer the 10K, I'm running another 5K in Thessaloniki next week.
Blanka VLASIC (CRO)
I'm very satisfied. 2m00 is very good with this weather. I opened the window this morning and I when saw the rain I wondered how I would survive this today. But I did very well and I'm happy. Winning a Golden League is always great. This was mu thirth compeition in 7 days. I'm a bit tired now.
Matt TEGENKAMP (USA)
12.58: great ! When I saw Dathan Ritzenheim breaking the 13 minutes barrier, I knew I could do that also. I had a very fine 10.000m in Berlin, so I knew I was in good shape. No, we aren't not afraid of the Africans: they are humans like we are. Our recepy is training hard and training harder. I'm so happy with this performance: now I'm the third American ever ! When I saw the weather today I knew it would be difficult: you still feel the wind in this big stadion, but nobody could break my confidence today. That's the American way: believe in yourself !
Andreas THORKILDSEN (NOR)
I had to stop after the first throw. Sort of a cramp, but no risks. Of course I've no problems to stay motivated after all those international titles. We are a group of throwers: all friends and making a lot of fun in combination with good performances. And one day I'l throw that spear from all up the Preikestolen in Norway...
Jeremy WARINER (USA)
It's always nice to win in front of a big crowd. But his weather... I trained here on monday and tuesday: than it was ideal for a 400m. My chrono today. Not so bad: I'll give it an eight !
Paul HESSION (IRL)
It was good. I had really tired legs so the time is quiet OK. The end of the season you know. This track is really fast but it was to cold. I'm used to this weather in Ireland but it was really to cold.
Wallace SPEARMON (USA)
The most difficult thing today : Usain or the weather ? Definitly the weather ! I wanted to run in the low 20's. So 20.19 is not bad, but not good enough. OK: it's cold, but that's no excuse. No excuse...
Veronica CAMPBELL-BROWN (JAM)
I'm not so happy. The start was not good. I'm only fourth. I hoped to do better.
Shelly-Ann FRASER (JAM)
I only can do my best. I ran as hard as I could, but you can't always win. No, the season is not that long and Berlin was fantastic. I gave all I had, but it was not good enough to win today. Still two races to go and than back to warm Jamaica, because this is to cold for good sprinting...
Debbie FERGUSON (BAH)
The time is noot good, the race was not terrific but I'm so glad to be here. The crowd is awesome! It's the end of the season, I did so many races. But I'm happy I'm still competiting at this level.
Powell (JAM)
ASAFA POWELL 9.90 - TYSON GAY 10.00
ASAFA POWELL SAID HE HAD A PRETTY GOOD START. HE STARTED TO FAST. IT IS HIS 5TH TIME HE WIN IN BRUSSELS. TYSON GAY HAD A BAD START. HE HAD AN OVERREACTION. I DON'T HAVE ANY EXCUSE. THEY BOTH ARE RETURNING NEXT YEAR TO WIN THE 100 METERS
Martyn ROONEY (GBR)
I missed a bit of shape. It was way to cold to run. I'm not very satisfied.
David GILLICK (IRL)
I'm happy after all. The conditions were tough and it was cold but that's for everyone the same. I'm a professional, I should be good in every weather. It was a bit Irish weather so I should be used to this. I Liked to be in the top 3.
Renny QUOW (TRI)
Second place behind Jeremy always feels a little bit as a victory. But the race was slow and I'm tired. I finish my season today. Back to Trinidad and training for next year.
Derval O'ROURKE (IRL)
The time was not so good but I'm satisfied with the 5th place. I had a bad season with a lot of injures so I'm already that I'm able to run here. The brussels crowd is really amazing. I hope to come back next year.
Delloreen ENNIS-LONDON (JAM)
It was OK, but not terrific. I had some problems with an injury of the achilles. After this I do one race more.
Priscilla LOPES-SCHLIEP (CAN)
Waaaw. 12.49. PB ! And in those weather conditions. It was a very close race together with Brigitte, so I hoped for a fast time. If I don't get injured there's more to come ! I'm so happy !
David RUDISHA (KEN)
I'm very happy with the victory. The time is OK as well in this weather.
Gary REED (CAN)
The weather conditions weren't good, that's wright but it was the same for everybody. I tried to do my best to stay as long as possible in the leading but it goes a little bit too fast for me in the end. Globally, i didn't have to complain: finish on third place here in Brussels is a great result for me.
Mbulaeni MULAUDZI (RSA)
Slow race. But I'm tired. Berlin took a lot of energy out of my legs. I have no problem with this weather conditions, but my legs feel so tired. And still the season is not done. Rieti and Thessaloniki are still to come. But Berlin was my goal. And you know the result...
Powell (JAM)
10.15? It hurts to get such a time because i felt good tonight. At the beginning, i get hurted on my hand and then lost my balance. From that moment, it was difficult for me to get completely in the rythm. The conditions weren't so important. I could have done better. A lot better.
Martyn ROONEY (GBR)
It was a good race. I'm satisfied. The weather was too cold to run faster. 10.09 is allright with the -0.4 wind. Yeah, I'm happy with my performance. Sunday I run in Dublin and than also the Grand Prix final.
David GILLICK (IRL)
Bad weather ? In Texas I'm used to run in cold and wet conditions. Well... not that could of course... But 10.08 is OK and 3d place behind those two big guys makes me really happy !
Renny QUOW (TRI)
It was pretty good, certanly with this weather. The time was OK. I hope to finish the season in good health withouit injuries. I really admire Sanya Richards she's such a great athlete.
Derval O'ROURKE (IRL)
It's much to cold for sprinting, I just wanted the race to be over as soon as possible. A little bit warmer and I come close to my PB. Next week I run in Rieti. Hopefully the weathet conditions will be better in Italy.
Delloreen ENNIS-LONDON (JAM)
FOR AUGUSTINE CHOGE IT WAS THE GREATEST MOMENT IS HIS CARREER. HE AND HIS TEAM THANKS THE FANTASTIC CROWD. IT WAS A GREAT ATMOSPHERE. THAT MOTIVED US TO DO SOMETHING GREAT. THE RACE WAS NOT SO EASY. ONLY 3 WEEKS AGO WE KNOW THAT THE RECORD EXISTED.
Priscilla LOPES-SCHLIEP (CAN)
I'm quiete satisfied about my race even if it was too difficult to follow Sanya Richards today. She's in such a good shape! The weather conditions weren't so good and personnally, i'm not in my best form as i was the case during the World Championships. Even then, i enjoy taking so much expérience in this kind of meetings and will come back better next year.
David RUDISHA (KEN)
I'm satisfied. Technicaly it was good and the time is OK as well. My PB is 13.30 so 13.39 is quit good. I did very well in Berlin with a fourth place. Watch me, next time I'll win a medal at World Championships.
Gary REED (CAN)
Did you see my reaction time ? Much toooo slow. I could do better, but the weather is really to cold...
Mbulaeni MULAUDZI (RSA)
I'm pleased with this race, but it should have come two weeks earlier in Berlin. I thougt I could in today, but my legs were tired. Anyway: I'm happy with this 800m.
