Marino Vanhoenacker has won the Antwerp Ironman 70.3 for the third time in a row. Sofie Goos was the fastest woman and took a great victory in front of her home crowd. The Belgians performed very well in Antwerp.

The 2009 edition was a great one! Of course Marino Vanhoenacker and Sofie Goos are the main stars in the extensive picture special.

For the third year in a row Marino Vanhoenacker has finished first in Antwerp. "That's unique, because everyone adjusts their competition to my performance", the winner said.

Sofie Goos was beaming after her victory in Antwerp. "This morning someone asked me whether I would consider myself one of the great if I won here. And look, I unexpectedly took the victory", she said.

On Saturday the Antwerp Ironweekend took off successfully with the Antwerp Iron Kid, the Antwerp Iron Relay and the Antwerp Iron Sprint. Take a look at the picture special!

During the Antwerp Ironweekend Kjell Verleysen became Belgian sprint champion. More than 70 athletes competed for the title.
